Pure 2
The workhorse. Tempered glass, clear, with a decent oleophobic coating. It has been around long enough that BodyGuardz supports an enormous range of devices with it, including older and budget phones nobody else bothers to make protectors for, like the Galaxy A02s and A12.
If your phone is more than two years old, Pure 2 is often the only quality option available, and it is perfectly good.

Pure 3
The current generation. Compared to Pure 2 it is thinner, has better edge adhesion, and a noticeably improved anti-fingerprint coating. The practical difference you will actually notice day to day is that it smudges less.
Impact protection is broadly similar. Pure 3 is not dramatically tougher; it is better refined. If both are available for your phone at a similar price, take Pure 3. If Pure 2 is meaningfully cheaper, you are not giving up much.

Apex

PRTX
PRTX is not glass. It is a synthetic shatterproof film. It will not crack, will not chip at the corners, and is much thinner than glass. The tradeoff is that it feels slightly different under the finger and scratches a little more easily than tempered glass.
PRTX is the right call for phones with curved or unusual screens where rigid glass lifts at the edges, and for anyone who hates the added thickness of glass. ECO PRTX is the same product in a plant-based material.

Installation matters more than the model
BodyGuardz includes an alignment tray with most kits, and it works well. The failure point is almost always dust. Clean the screen with the alcohol wipe, dry it, then go over it with the dust sticker, and hold the phone up against a light to check before you commit. Thirty seconds there saves a wasted protector.
If you get a bubble at the edge after install, do not press on it. Lift that corner with the sticker, remove whatever particle is under it, and lay it back down.

Is Pure 3 worth upgrading to from Pure 2?
As a replacement purchase, yes, the better coating alone is worth it. Peeling off a healthy Pure 2 just to install Pure 3 is not; the protection difference is small. Upgrade when the old one cracks or the coating wears smooth.
Pure 3 Edge or PRTX for a curved Samsung?
Pure 3 Edge if you want glass feel and maximum scratch resistance. PRTX if a case with a tight lip keeps lifting your glass protectors, since film has no rigid edge to catch.
